What wouldn't this little pieces of history go with? Exquisite antique black mourning glass with iridescence. Very unusual to find the iridescent finish. It has actually taken me years to acquire enough buttons to do this piece.
Yes, we offer Layaway. See our policy page for details (tab is at the top)
Description: Beautiful 100+ year old buttons line up in a pretty row to present this wonderfully unique piece of jewelry.
Mourning buttons were modeled after expensive jet buttons worn by the wealthy in the age of Queen Victoria. After the death of her beloved husband, she donned black and wore that during her lengthy rein.
Creating one of these is a long process. We lovingly search through
a small sea of antique buttons with an eye for just the right
combination of carving. The actual carving was done by hand, so these
are true pieces of art. They are cleaned, then arranged, and set, one
by one, in a custom sterling bezel. Bezels are built from scratch in our studio. After
the finishing, we have a pretty special bracelet, sure to attract
attention, to offer you for your collection.
Back of the sterling silver bezels has been beautifully embossed with a floral pattern.
Size and Packaging: Sterling silver adjustable toggle closure and will fit wrists 8 3/4 to 9". We can remove buttons to make it smaller around 6 1/2". Then adjustable rings can be added to the closure to make it longer.
Just let us know if you want a shorter bracelet and then the length by checking the box and then give us the size you would like at checkout.
